Mental Health Services
(a division of the Department of Health Care Services)
The Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) administers a variety of mental health programs for children and youth, and adults, including Medi-Cal specialty mental health services and Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) services. Mental health services are delivered or contracted through local county mental health departments listed at http://www.dhcs.ca.gov/individuals/Pages/MHPContactList.aspx.
The Medi-Cal helpline is available at http://www.dhcs.ca.gov/individuals/Pages/Medi-CalMemberHelpline.aspx
Although it is not a DHCS program, the Network of Care for Mental Health, networkofcare.org/splash.aspx, is a useful resource to obtain information about mental health issues and to search for a wide variety of mental health and other support services in your local community. You can find local mental health services that are contracted by DHCS and delivered through local county mental health agencies here: http://www.dhcs.ca.gov/individuals/Pages/MHPContactList.aspx.
